I began studying art in high school, where I was enrolled in the school district’s commercial art program. This program took the place of my regular classes, with the exception of the basics, for two years. I also attended weekend and night drawing classes at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
I studied illustration at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California. I focused on children’s book illustration and decorative illustration, which I believe is very evident in my work today. I graduated with a BFA in 2000.
After moving to New York City and living here for a few years, I decided to go back to school and get the 2 year AAS degree from the textile/surface design department at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Presently I work for Henry Glass & Co. in the heart of the garment district in New York City. We create home sewing fabrics, predominately 100% cotton. We also create flannel and fleece designs. You can find our fabrics in JoAnn Fabrics and in many boutique quilt shops across the nation.
